GHS Olympics
The Gladstone High School Olympics have proved to be a huge success amongst students, with impressive skill and increasing popularity. Over the course of the 7 weeks, we have endured the likes of football, volleyball, netball, basketball, soccer and table tennis, all of which ran quite smoothly and brought smiles all around.
However, none of this would have been possible without the tireless efforts of the school captains, making sure all games run on time, gathering all the teams and using their free lessons to plan, set-up and organise the scoring and team fixtures.
We would also like to thank the teachers for supervising these games over their lunch breaks; it wouldn’t have worked without you. With the success from this year’s Olympics, it would be great to see this carried on annually!

Year 11 Child Studies – Kindergym Visits to Gladstone Kindy
Our Year 11 Child Studies students recently had the opportunity to visit Gladstone Kindergarten across three sessions. During the first two visits, students observed children aged 2–4, gaining insights into early childhood development and the importance of gross motor skills. These observations informed the planning of our final visit to design and run a Kindergym Session
Kindergym is a movement-based program that supports the physical, social, and emotional development of young children through play. Originating in Australia in the 1980s, it promotes coordination, balance, and confidence in a safe, inclusive environment.
Our students collaborated to create a series of age-appropriate, culturally responsive activities that encouraged movement, fun, and connection. This hands-on experience not only deepened their understanding of children’s wellbeing but also strengthened their planning, teamwork, and reflective practice.
We thank Gladstone Kindy for welcoming us, we had an amazing time.
